Originally from western New York, I graduated from Allegheny College with a B.A. in English and then worked in an academic library in South Carolina. My experiences there teaching students about research and information literacy, combined with my undergraduate writing center work, fostered my interests in pedagogy and student writing and led me to pursue graduate work in Writing Studies.
