Center Graduate Students: Evin Groundwater
Evin Groundwater is a PhD candidate in the department of English and the Center for Writing Studies at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
Originally from Guthrie, Oklahoma (more or less), I got my B.A. in English at the University of Oklahoma in 2011 and my M.A. in Composition, Rhetoric, and Literacy in 2014, also at Oklahoma. Working in OU's Writing Center and tutoring students in writing fostered an interest not just in working with written texts, but with the people behind those texts, and exploring how those texts get written. Those interests led me to the Center for Writing Studies here at the University of Illinois.
Rhetorics of Space, New Media Studies, Writing Center and Composition Studies, Game Studies, and Masculinity and Queer Studies.
