Center Graduate Students: Hannah Harris
Hannah Harris is a Master student in Linguistics at the Uiversity of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
Hannah graduated with a BS in Elementary Education with specializations in ESL, English, and Spanish. In 2010, she was selected as a Golden Apple Scholar of Illinois. She then went on to teach ESL as an elementary teacher in public schools. Hannah has also enjoyed short-term volunteer teaching experiences in China and Singapore working with English language learners as well. She has presently returned to graduate school to pursue a degree in MAT-ESL (Master’s of Teaching English as a Second Language) through the Linguistics department at UIUC. Her interest in writing stems from classroom teaching experience as well as her personal engagement in the writing process. She is interested in dialogic teaching methods, second language writing, and specifically how students influence teachers’ pedagogies and philosophies within those areas.
