Bibliographic Statement
After completing my MA in Teaching English as an International Language (TESOL) with a specialization in Writing Studies, I returned to English, my college major but oscillated between literature and writing studies. Writing Studies eventually lured me with its novelty as a field and the interdisciplinary approach. My research interests are centered on (im)migrant literacies in the context of transnationalism and global flows. In my research, I hope to give voice to “people’s perspective” on language and literacy (see Prof. Anne Dyson’s ethnography class on “people’s perspective”) and to explore ways in which people negotiate physical, cultural or linguistic borders.
