Biographical Statement
Kaia Simon Power recently moved to Illinois from Wisconsin, where she was a student and teacher. She earned a BA in English Education from the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire and then taught literature and composition in the Eau Claire public schools for a total of eight years. After teaching middle school, then high school, she followed the next logical step and went on to college: she is pursuing a PhD in English, with an emphasis on Writing Studies. Kaia is currently serving as the Assistant Director for the Undergraduate Rhetoric Program at UIUC.
