Abstract
The research problems of composition studies are interdisciplinary, and in addressing those problems we have borrowed methods from other disciplines before we examined the methodological and theoretical consequences of that borrowing. This talk uses examples from advanced composition and computers and writing to argue that method in composition research needs to be situated in practice.
