Abstract
With the break-up of the Soviet Union there has been a massive effort to re-write official history in Russia and other former republics. These efforts at producing new history are reflected in the media, teaching materials, and other areas of post-Soviet life. Furthermore, there seem to be some developments in how people appropriate new accounts of the past. Employing ideas about dialogicality and narrative, this presentation will focus on the production of new history textbooks in Russia and how it might be expected to develop in the future.
