Abstract
In recent years there have been calls in Writing Studies to understand the ways that English is being taken up, resisted, and transformed in global contexts. This research takes up this call and examines the reading, writing, design, and speaking practices of workers at an Israeli hi-tech company. Using a sociohistoric framework, I examine the construction of a Web 2.0 social networking tool and the ways that language practices mediate the design project's activities.
