Writers Workshop

Locations

Our four locations are listed below along with descriptions of each location. If you would like to make an appointment at any of these locations call 333-8796 and see our schedule page for hours.

Undergraduate Library (Main Location)

The main location of the Writers' Workshop is room 251 of the Undergraduate Library--on the same level as the circulation desks.

Description

We generally have over 2,000 appointments each semester in our main location. University of Illinois students, faculty, and staff are welcome to come see us!

Description

The biosciences satellite is geared specifically toward writers in the sciences and features a staff deeply familiar with scientific writing and subject matter.  Writers from other backgrounds may use the site, but priority will be given to work from scientific disciplines. 

Grainger Library

Room 435, Grainger Library, Springfield Avenue

Description

The Grainger satellite is convenient for writers on the north end of campus or when the main site is booked.  It is utilized by both engineering students and other writers. 

Weston Hall

Room 11 & Room 14, Weston Hall (part of the "Six Pack")

Description

The Weston satellite is in the Weston Exploration Unit inside Weston Hall. Enter at the NE entrance and follow the signs for the Writers’ Workshop. If you arrive for an appointment and cannot find the room or are locked out of the building, please call 244-9703.
